About

Haven for Haitian & Caribbean Culture

Little Haiti BK in Brooklyn is a vibrant cultural district established in 2018, serving as a hub for Haitians and the broader Caribbean community in Flatbush. This district represents more than 20% of the area’s foreign-born population, reflecting the significant presence and cultural contributions of Caribbean immigrants.

Spearheaded by local leaders and community members, Little Haiti BK was created to preserve and promote Caribbean heritage amidst the challenges of gentrification and changing immigration policies. It provides a vital space for cultural expression and community solidarity, supporting Caribbean businesses and cultural practices through street naming, community events, and advocacy. This initiative not only celebrates Haitian culture but also embraces the diverse traditions of the Caribbean, fostering a sense of belonging and pride among all Caribbean residents in Brooklyn.
